Privacy Policy — Soveli Mail

1. Overview
Soveli Mail (“the app”) is an application for Even Realities G2 smart glasses that lets you read, triage, compose, and reply to Gmail messages by voice and glance. This policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, what is and isn’t stored, and the third-party services involved.
We designed Soveli Mail to access the minimum data needed to do its job and to keep you in control of anything that leaves your account.
2. Information we access
Your Gmail data. With your permission (granted through Google’s standard OAuth sign-in), the app accesses your Gmail messages so it can display them on the G2, read them aloud, and — only when you dictate and confirm — send replies and new messages. This includes message senders, subjects, bodies, and related metadata for the messages shown to you.
Voice input. When you use voice reply, voice compose, or hands-free triage, your spoken audio is captured by the G2 microphone and converted to text so the app can act on it. The microphone is only active while you are dictating.
Image descriptions. If you use the describe-an-image compose feature, the text description you speak is sent to an image-generation service to create the image you attach.
AI drafting. When you ask AI to write an email or a reply from your dictated notes, those notes — and, for a reply, the text of the message you are replying to — are sent to our AI provider so it can produce the draft you review. As always, nothing is sent to a recipient until you confirm it.
Contacts. Email addresses you dictate when sending, and any contact list you import on the web, are used to offer recipients when you compose.
Basic technical data. Standard operational data (such as error and connection information) may be processed so the service can run reliably.
3. How we use information
We use the information above solely to provide the app’s features: showing your inbox, reading and displaying messages, transcribing your voice, drafting and writing messages with AI that you review and confirm, sending the messages you confirm, generating images you request, saving and importing your contacts, and switching between the Gmail accounts you connect.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to build profiles of you. We do not use your Gmail content or voice input to train generalized AI/ML models.
4. What we store
Soveli Mail is built to be a pass-through to Gmail rather than a data warehouse.
- Message content is fetched from Gmail to display on the glasses and is not retained by us as a permanent copy after your session.
- Authentication tokens provided by Google are stored only as needed to keep you signed in to the accounts you connect, and are removed when you disconnect an account.
- Voice audio is used transiently for transcription and is not retained as a stored recording after the command is processed.
- Saved contacts — the names and email addresses you dictate when sending, or import on the web — are stored so your recipients are available across sessions and devices. You can edit or delete them at any time, and they are removed when you delete your account.
5. Third-party services
To provide its features, Soveli Mail relies on the following processors. Each receives only the data needed for its function:
- Google (Gmail API) — source of your mail; destination for messages you send. Your use of Gmail is also governed by Google’s own privacy policy.
- OpenAI — used to write emails and replies from the notes you dictate, suggest replies, generate subject lines, and generate images you describe.
- Deepgram — used to transcribe your voice input into text.
- Railway — hosting provider for the app’s backend service.
We encourage you to review these providers’ privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices, but we choose them to be consistent with this policy.
6. Google API Services — Limited Use disclosure
Soveli Mail’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically:
- We only request the Gmail scopes needed to provide user-facing features (reading messages to display and read them on the G2, and sending/composing messages you dictate and confirm).
- We only use Google user data to provide and improve those user-facing features.
- We do not transfer or sell Google user data for advertising, and we do not use it for any purpose other than providing the app’s features to you.
- We do not allow humans to read your Google user data unless (a) you give explicit consent for specific messages, (b) it is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, or (c) it is required by law.
- We do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalized AI/ML models.
7. Your choices and control
- You confirm every send. No reply or new message is sent from your account without your explicit confirmation on the glasses.
- You can disconnect an account at any time from the account picker, which removes the app’s access for that account.
- You can revoke access entirely at any time from your Google Account’s security settings (Third-party access), which invalidates the app’s tokens.
- Microphone control — the mic is only active while you dictate; the app does not listen in the background.
8. Data security
We use reasonable technical measures, including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), to protect data in transit between the app, our backend, and the third-party services above. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information consistent with this policy.
9. Children’s privacy
Soveli Mail is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notifying you in the app.
